Non-Profit Association Offers Members Discounts on Health Related Costs and Prepares to Offer Group Rates on Health Insurance

The American Association of Employees and Self-Employed Persons is announcing a valuable package of discounts for members. New members joining this fast growing employee association at the premium level now receive discounts on prescription drugs, dental, medical and hospital costs and vision care throughout the country.

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 9, 2005 -- The American Association of Employees and Self-Employed Persons (AAESEP), a non-profit organization, which offers American workers access to critical information, referrals to job training and search organizations, and opportunities to act as advocates on the policies and programs that could dramatically affect their lives, has added a critical new service to their list of programs.

Beginning October 1st, 2005 individuals joining as AAESEP Premium members will receive discounts on prescription drugs, dental, medical and hospital costs and vision care throughout the country. These important discount benefits are now available through AAESEP’s website (www.AAESEP.org). AAESEP has also been working closely with a New York area insurance company to develop a unique association health insurance product to be released within the next two months for AAESEP members in the New York area.

The introduction of AAESEP’s discount program and the near completion of the organization’s first insurance offering has been more than 20 years in the making. Well-known labor attorney, Roger H. Madon developed the idea for AAESEP in 1984 in response to the changes he saw in the American economy and the increased foreign competition. “The challenges facing workers have evolved since I first developed this idea,” said Madon. “The world of work is different, but nothing has changed my mind about this project, I still want to give working Americans and their families the tools to build a healthy, happy life.”

AAESEP plans to offer members access to high-quality, low-cost health insurance nationwide at group rates, launching in New York in the near future, and expanding this important offering to all 50 states in the coming years. AAESEP continues to work with local and national insurers to create products and policies that strive to offer health insurance with affordable premiums, improved coverage and lower deductibles than many of the plans currently available through other organizations. Tyler Malin, AAESEP’s Executive Director says, “AAESEP is continuing in its struggle to provide access to quality health insurance that is affordable for all Americans, this is a first step and we look forward to making great strides.”

Since the discount plan became available, the AAESEP website has received more than 1,000 hits a day and new AAESEP members from across the country, Oregon to New Jersey, have joined the organization that is “Improving the Way America Works”.

AAESEP endeavors to deliver information to the public on issues related to work and employment; support high-quality research into areas of interest to working and self-employed persons; provide referrals to a variety of services including legal services, retirement planning, health insurance, education and job skills training; and to become the premier source of information to policy makers, the business community, political leaders, and academic researchers on issues related to employment and to link a wide variety of professional associations and related groups dedicated to meeting the changing needs of today’s workforce.
