Williams Township resident Martin Gould has published his first novel entitled Wishful Thinking (iUniverse Press, $14.95).

A former entertainment journalist, Gould has written a comic tale which is a semi-autobiographical account of a young man’s quest for love and success in today’s whacky world. Within the first month of publication, Wishful Thinking has already risen to Amazon.Com’s top 25 best selling list of books in its genre.

The wildly imaginative novel introduces the lovable character Elliott Simon and his search for romance, happiness and excitement. From his unconquerable addiction to cupcakes to his desire to be deeply in love to his burning desire to become a “toast of the town” cabaret singer, Elliott Simon’s wild and crazy adventures in Wishful Thinking are hilarious and endearing.

Gould is the former East Coast Editor, entertainment journalist and Broadway theatre critic for The Hollywood Reporter, a daily entertainment trade publication. At age 26, he co-produced the National Tour and Broadway production of the stage musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers starring Debby Boone along with an original off-Broadway comedy called Save the Loopholes.

He also performed one-man cabaret shows at Odette’s in New Hope, PA. and Don’t Tell Mama in New York City and Point Sebago Resort in Casco, Maine. Currently, Gould is co-owner of BradfordGould Public Relations in Bethlehem, PA which services the PR needs of many local Lehigh Valley businesses. Gould received his B.A. from Connecticut College in New London, CT and a Master’s Degree from New York University.

Partial proceeds from the sale of Wishful Thinking will be donated to The Camp Sunshine Foundation (http://www.campsunshine.org/) which provides families who have a critically ill child with free a vacation at its one of its campuses in either Maine and Wisconsin.

Wishful Thinking is available for purchase at Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, iUniverse.com and by order at any local bookseller.
