(PRWEB) October 9, 2005 -- 'Superstars Give Hope' went off with a bang… the event was a great time and all who attended had a great time. A rush of local supporters of the cause horded the Nile at Metropolis Downtown while those clutching their VIP tickets lounged inside Shelter at Metropolis Downtown with the 'A' list of supporters and Celebrities.

Tommy Davidson, Michael Colyer and Miguel Nunez hosted a live auction with items donated by companies such as Zero Halliburton, Rocco Donna, David LeBatard “LEBO” and Art Café of South Beach.

Celebrity donations consisted of things such as a trip to Hollywood to hang out on-set with Penny Marshall for the day, a table at Metropolis Nile with Lamar Odom of the LA Lakers for you and six friends, Dinner with Robert Horry and tickets to see him play in San Antonio and lunch with Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics. The bidding was a war between those with the Black Amex to the avid fan who mortgaged his home to have dinner with his favorite sports celebrity!

Celebrity sightings were like sand on the beaches of Miami. Antoine Walker of the Miami Heat, Keith Mitchell of the New Orleans Saints, Miami Heat’s own Matt Walsh, Richard Dent Hall-of-famer and former Chicago Bear, Comedian Michael Colyer of “Barbershop”, Comedian Tommy Davidson of “Booty Call” as well as Miguel Nunez of the new hit show “Joey”.

“Superstars Give Hope” was a success and raised nearly 40k in donation and auction items. These funds are going to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita. This will be providing food, clean water and shelter to those in need.
