Cleveland, Ohio a Good Place for a Movie Studio
Prelude2Cinema is accepting tax-deductible donations for a movie and TV Studio in Cleveland, Ohio. The first production is Emmy winning writer Alex P. Michaels' TV Series "Out of Darkness."
Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) October 9, 2005 -- Digital Movie & TV Studio Prelude2Cinema is starting a studio fund to build a training and production facility similar to the Canadian Film Centre. Prelude2Cinema's studio will be known as the Knight Studio Movie Incubator (K.S.M.I. a.k.a. "kiss me"). To gather funds for the studio, Prelude2Cinema has enlisted Independent Pictures as its fiscal agent. So tax-deductible donations will be going to Independent Pictures and then to Prelude2Cinema to build the Studio.
Independent Pictures (IP) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization established in 1993. IP is the proud sponsor of Script Mill, Ohio Independent Screenplay Awards, Ohio Independent Film Festival, Independent Film School, Film Production Training Program, regional AIVF Salons, Fiscal Agent Sponsorship Program, Speakers Bureau, and a variety of curatorial programs.
The first production from K.S.M.I. will be "Out of Darkness." Emmy winning writer Alex P. Michaels' sexy, supernatural crime thriller is working toward being Cleveland's own version of "Law & Order." Prelude2Cinema is already working on episode 5 of a 13-episode season. Other local productions will benefit from the Studio and it will also be for rent to those who come in from Hollywood. Although the focus for K.S.M.I., will be on cultivating the local filmmaking community.
Prelude2Cinema is talking to local corporations and private donors about supporting the studio. Prelude2Cinema expects the doors for the studio to open as early as next Spring. Michaels says, "Jim Levin and Thomas Mulready's successful Ingenuity Festival has taught us that it is possible for people to come together and support the arts which benefits the city artistically and financially. I know both of them and they are an inspiration to what people can do when they have a vision and wish to benefit the city." A Studio here is something we need and it will help to create jobs and it is long overdue.
Prelude2Cinema is following the model of Ingenuity and a dozen or so movie studios, which have sprung up all over the country. A studio provides jobs and that is something Cleveland desperately needs. Prelude2Cinema believes it is not enough to wait for Hollywood to come in and save us. We have to save ourselves.
