JERUSALEM, Israel (PRWEB) October 10, 2005

Leading officials of the Israeli government and religious leaders of the Catholic and Jewish faiths attended the opening of the exhibit of the Maimonides Manuscripts at the Israel Museum. The exhibit opened on Tuesday, September 27th with numerous dignitaries in attendance.

Gary Krupp KCSG, and Meredith Krupp founders of the Pave the Way Foundation, led a delegation of religious leaders from the Jewish and Christian faiths to celebrate this important gesture of inter-religious cooperation. In attendance were the two chief rabbis of Israel, Archbishop Pietro Sambi, Apostolic Nuncio to Israel and the Holy Land, Fr. Raffaele Farina SBD, Prefect to the Vatican Library, Dr. Claudia Montuschi, Director of Loans for the Vatican library, Zvi Tal, of the Israeli foreign ministry, and Ambassador Moshe Fox, former Consul General for Israel in Washington DC.

Pave the Way Foundation initiated and obtained final approval to add the Vatican Library portion of the exhibit as part of the Israel Museum's 40th anniversary celebration. The Vatican provided a magnificently illustrated manuscript of Moses Maimonides’ Mishneh Torah in the original Hebrew. The Vatican Museum also provided Jacob ben Asher's Arba'ah Turim from 1435, as well as a complete Hebrew Bible codex and a book of Psalms, both produced in Rome in the 13th century, among the earliest such manuscripts in existence.

“This is the first time in history these manuscripts have been on Israeli soil, representing a new level of cooperation and cultural exchange between the Holy See and the State of Israel,” said Gary Krupp KCSG, President and founder of Pave the Way Foundation, “The future looks extremely promising for many other historic advances between the Catholic Church and the Jewish people. We will continue to promote these gestures of good will to open more areas of communication and cooperation.”

Pave the Way Foundation, whose mission is to bring together men of good will, no matter what religious background, has devoted much time and effort towards working with the officials of the Israeli Government and the representatives of the Holy See in Israel to move for the finalization of fundamental agreements for establishing full diplomatic relations between Israel and the Vatican. Among other accomplishments, in January 2005, PTWF led a group of more than a hundred forty Jewish leaders to a private audience with Pope John Paul II, to thank him for all he has done for the Jewish people. Other projects are ongoing.

The Chronicle of Philanthropy featured the Maimonides Manuscripts loan and Pave The Way Foundation's role in the September 15th edition. This prestigious publication is known as the ‘newspaper of the nonprofit world’. It is the number one news source, in print and online, for charity leaders, fund raisers, grant makers, and other people involved in the philanthropic enterprise.

About Pave the Way Foundation

PTWF has a simple yet monumental goal: To enhance the relations between the world’s religions through gestures of good will and thereby embracing their similarities and savoring their differences. In today’s world, some individuals try to achieve their agenda through violence, in the name of religion. To silently allow this to happen defames every faith. The vision of PTWF is that the unified voice of the world’s great religious leaders condemning violence and promoting trust will pave the way to peace.
