Captured Moments: Photography of “Hearts and Minds” Tucked Away in Homey Armonk Corporate Park Studio

Captured Moments by Carmen, a warm and homey photo studio set in a idyllic corporate park in Armonk, NY, was started more than 10 years ago by a "football Mom" when she was over 40. . .turning a passion into a vocation -- and an art form.

ARMONK, NY (PRWEB) October 12, 2005 -- Antoine de Saint Exupery’s “Little Prince” learned from the fox that the secret of life was that “it is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Carmen Celentano has a similar philosophy about her photography. As she puts it: “We don’t take pictures with our cameras. We take them with our hearts and minds.”

Practicing what she preaches for nearly 15 years, Celentano, photographer and owner of Captured Moments by Carmen, offers a wide range of services: children and family, fashion, graduate, corporate, and pet portraits; special occasion (wedding, engagements, birthdays, anniversaries, reunions, communions/confirmations, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs); and architectural design shots.

She and her staff of photographers are masters in black- and- white photography, hand tinting, sepia toning, silver prints, and 3D montages, as well as other special effects like “video stories”. As part of her personal service, she also offers customers an online gallery available to view proofs of their portrait sitting or special event and even guidelines on how to prepare and dress a child for their sitting.

Celentano has won acclaim for her passionate portrayal of photography as an art form. Specializing in photojournalism and candid shots, she has made black- and-white images her hallmark. "I love the timelessness of black and white,” she says, “it has a romantic appeal that's unequal in any other medium."

But Celentano’s success didn’t come overnight. It wasn’t until she was in her 40s that her avocation became her vocation after years of taking photos at her son’s Pop Warner Football League games and sharing them with other parents. She started the business working from her home and 10 years ago, moved the studio, and its warm and cozy homey ambience, to a beautifully decorated suite at 28 Kaysal Court in an idyllic corporate park in Armonk off Old Route 22.

Constantly exploring new avenues to click (pun intended) with her clients, Celentano now has expanded her offerings to such unique items as:

  • "Rembrandt on canvas", a portrait study carefully handmade and bonded to canvas, which is then mounted on a stretcher frame, sealed, and protected with a special archival lacquer;
  • one-of-a-kind watercolor portraits, framed, signed, and presented as an original work of art; and
  • “First Year”, a panel or montage of baby pictures which captures the child at intervals from three to 12 months.
