Dan Rather and Wim Wenders to Present Awards to Photography's Finest at the 3rd Annual Lucie Awards

Peter Lindbergh, Lucien Clergue and Ozzie Sweet are Among Honorees Receiving Awards at the Prestigious Event.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 12, 2005 -- In just three years, The Lucie Awards ceremony has become one of the most prominent and significant events in the Photography Industry. This year’s gala - hosted by Tom Bergeron, will take place on October 17, 2005 at the American Airlines Theatre in New York City and will honor some of the world’s most revered photographers.

Produced by the International Photography Awards (IPA), The Lucie Awards celebrates the outstanding achievements of the world’s finest photographers in the following categories: fashion, advertising, portraiture, fine art, photojournalism and documentary. Awards will also be given for humanitarianism and lifetime achievement.

The 2005 Honorees confirmed to attend this year’s Lucie Awards gala ceremony are:

William Klein: Lifetime Achievement

Lucien Clergue: Outstanding Achievement in Fine Art Photography

Peter Lindbergh: Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Photography

Harry Benson: Outstanding Achievement in Portrait Photography
*Award Presented by Dan Rather

Ozzie Smith: Outstanding Achievement in Sports Photography
*Award Presented by Mark Durand, ESPN

Antonin Kratochvil: Outstanding Achievement in Photojournalism
*Award Presented by Kathy Ryan, New York Times

Larry Clark: Outstanding Achievement in Documentary Photography
*Award Presented by Rosario Dawson

Hiro: Outstanding Achievement in Advertising Photography
*Award Presented by Stephen Dan, Creative Director, Harper’s Bazaar

Zana Briski (Born Into Brothels): Humanitarian Award

Special Tributes to Richard Avedon, Eddie Adams, Robert Sobieszck and Jocelyne Benzakin will also take place.

The awards ceremony will honor individuals’ integral to the crafting of an image. Those awards will be Book Publisher of the Year, Curator of the Year, Picture Editor of the Year, Fashion Layout of the Year, Print Advertising Campaign of the Year and Photography Magazine of the Year.
