Tea Anyone?

Legislators should brace themselves for a Tea Party

HARRISBURG, Pa. (PRWEB) October 13, 2005 -- On Monday, October 24th Legislators in Harrisburg will be delivered a message “the people of Pennsylvania have had enough and demand property tax elimination”. Taxpayers will unite on the steps of the Capitol in support of the “Commonwealth Caucus Plan for Pennsylvania’s Future”. The grass roots effort for the Harrisburg Tea Party is led by Christian Leinbach. Mr. Leinbach has been a long time supporter of the plan and has been a guest lecturer at many meetings throughout Pennsylvania.

Taxpayer associations throughout the state have organized bus loads of plan supporters who will be traveling to Harrisburg. The rally will begin at 12:00 and it is anticipated that over 10,000 people will participate. The Harrisburg Tea Party is a modern day reflection of the Boston Tea Party that occurred in 1773. Instead of dumping 45 tons of tea into the Boston Harbor taxpayers will distribute thousands of teabags into every Legislators office in Harrisburg.

Why is this plan supported by residents of Pennsylvania?
-School Property Taxes are eliminated.
-Cities such as Philadelphia will benefit by eliminating Real Estate Tax and/or a decreased percentage in city wage tax.
-Inner City Schools will benefit and have better funding.
-The plan has tax exclusions such as Wick, Food Stamps, College Funds, and Medical Services and prescriptions.
-More people will qualify for mortgages and be able to buy a home.
-Taxpayers will have more money to spend and it will strengthen the economy and create more jobs.
-Everybody contributes to school funding.

Representatives Sam Rohrer and Dennis Leh continue to travel across Pennsylvania, attending meetings and educating taxpayers on why their plan, is the best solution to the property tax catastrophe in Pennsylvania. Supporters of this plan want Governor Rendell to incorporate “Act 72” as a supplement to the “Commonwealth Caucus Plan”.

All Pennsylvania taxpayers are urged to get a copy of the “Commonwealth Caucus Plan for Pennsylvania’s Future” and review it for themselves. Contact your legislators by phone or e-mail and to let them know property tax elimination, not reform, is demanded. Legislators had no problem convening until 2:00 am to get their pay raise. Don’t let them spend their 34% increase until the “Commonwealth Caucus Plan” is passed in Pennsylvania.
