Funk Legend Sly Stone's Custom 4-Wheel Harley Davidson To Be Auctioned On Ebay
Bike will be autographed and highest-bidder will receive personalized autographed photo.
Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) October 13, 2005 -- Funk legend Sly Stone’s four-wheeled “Quad” Harley Davidson will be placed on Ebay for auction on Wednesday, October 12, 2005.
The motorcycle was customized by Bartel’s Harley in California, builder of bikes for such Hollywood stars as Keanu Reeves, Mickey Rourke and Steven Tyler. Bartel’s made two of these very special “Quads” for Sly Stone. The bike, which Sly called “Phatt-back,” is a Harley Davidson Police motorcycle turned into a powerhouse four-wheeler, which converts back into a two-wheeler in minutes.
This Harley is being auctioned by his sister, Vaetta (http://www.slyslilsis.com), and is one of only two existing in the world. The other is still owned by Sly Stone, himself. The lucky purchaser will not only be riding a bike customized for the Godfather of Funk, they will be the only person other than Sly Stone to own one. The motorcycle comes autographed by Sly and the auction includes a personalized, autographed photo of Sly and the motorcycle.
As is illustrated by the photo and recent account on Sly’s official website, PhattaDatta.com, Sly made his first public appearance in over 12 years to see his sister’s tribute band, Phunk Phamily Affair (http://www.phunkphamilyaffair.com), at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, arriving on this same 4-wheel motorcycle with his sister on the back seat.
ABOUT SLY - Sly Stone was the founder of Sly & the Family Stone, the internationally acclaimed and influential funk band of the 1960’s and 1970’s. They are known for their chart-topping hits, such as “Dance to the music,” “It’s a family affair,” “Everyday People” and “I want to take you higher.” Sly Stone’s band was the first major group to be multi-ethnic and a cross-over between Rock, Pop and Soul. They are often considered the originators of Funk music.
