Conference sessions and keynotes will address topics ranging from legal issues to potential business models for podcasting.

The first tradeshow and conference for the new medium of podcasting will take place outside Los Angeles on November 11-12, 2005.

Attendees, registered from 19 countries and 35 states, will meet at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California to discuss a wide range of issues including music licensing and copyrights, advertising and subscription business models, using podcasts as a marketing tool and audio and video search.

"Podcasters may produce audio and video content on very different subjects, but many of the business and legal issues they face are the same. The Portable Media Expo and Podcasting Conference offers the opportunity for everyone to come together and discuss these common opportunities and challenges," said Tim Bourquin, Founder of TNC New Media, organizer of the event. "With the incredible growth in podcasting and portable video, there are now thousands of programs on niche and popular topics. For consumers, the challenge is finding the content they want from all of the choices available. For podcasters, the challenge is to stand out in an increasingly crowded space. We’ve put together a conference that addresses both issues.”

Portable Media Expo & Podcasting Conference is the only industry event that brings together tech-influential podcasters, media, content creators and device makers to cover the complete range of business, marketing and legal issues for portable audio & video.

The ability to automate the delivery of time-shifted media to portable devices via an RSS feed, allowing listeners to consume the content on their own schedule, is the focus of the conference sessions. The conference program features a combination of keynotes, expert panel discussions, step-by-step "how to" sessions, and audience participation.

A sampling of session topics scheduled during the two day event includes:

  • Podcasting As a Marketing Tool
  • How Podcasting Is Changing Traditional Radio
  • E-Commerce Tools For Selling Audio and Video
  • Music in Podcasts: The Future of Music Licensing
