(PRWEB) October 15, 2005 -- Linda Swain hosts and produces “Moms on the Move”, which on October 24th will feature an interview with Singer/Songwriter Miss Amy. “Moms on the Move” can be seen Mondays on the NBC 10! Show and Sunday morning news on NBC 10 (WCAU-TV Philadelphia).
During her segment, Linda Swain profiles “Real and Inspiring Moms who are making a difference in their homes, their communities and in the world”. Miss Amy has been an inspiration to children and parents through her 2 Grammy submitted CDs of mostly original music, her colorful kids concerts, and the causes she has performed for and supported.
“Moms on the Move recognizes the most valuable natural resource we have on this planet; mothers,” says Linda Swain, and she adds, “every mom has a situation they handle successfully that could help or inspire others.”
Revered as a children's musician, Miss Amy performs age friendly music for youngsters that parents and even grandparents enjoy, and enjoy together. Her ability to bridge the generational gap has even founded a new genre of music called 3-G (Three Generations).
Miss Amy is also part of the Philadelphia based WXPN "Musicians On Call", a program that brings live music to the bedsides of patients in facilities such as The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania.
As a special guest Miss Amy recently participated in the New Jersey Library Appreciation Days, which held events at several Barnes & Nobles to raise money for the NJ State Summer Reading Program and foster awareness about the importance of literacy in the state. Miss Amy, a music educator, yoga instructor and avid reader herself stated before the activities, "it's a real honor to be asked to be a part of this event, and I hope to foster awareness of the importance of reading to everyone there". Miss Amy hosted a Musical Storytime at the Barnes & Nobel in Princeton, celebrated the release of her "Wide Wide World" CD, and entertained children with a special appearance by Winnie the Pooh.
Known in the Philadelphia community for her civic and charity work, Linda Swain was recognized as one of Pennsylvania’s Best Women in Business by former Governor Tom Ridge. Her interview of Miss Amy reveals the reasons behind the musical pursuits, tenacity and fortitude that Miss Amy has exhibited for the last 9 years in creating and developing children’s music that contains positive messages.
