Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 14, 2005 -- Former Houston television personality Lloyd Gite will spread holiday cheer by celebrating the diversity of the Houston art community. The Gite Gallery will present “The Urban Nutcracker Market”, an art fair showcasing African American Holiday wares Saturday December 3, 2005 from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and Sunday December 4, 2005 from 12 pm – 6:00 pm.
“Its one of my greatest joys to celebrate the African American culture during the holidays,” Gite said. “From seasonal meals and music to Kwanza there are so many rich traditions that take place.”
However, decorative items and gifts to accompany these rich traditions are not always easy to find.
“Many of my clients have expressed their frustration over the difficulty of finding simple African American themed décor for holiday celebrations,” Gite added. “The Gite Gallery is happy to bring them so many talented and diverse artists that will meet their needs.”
A private reception will be held on Friday December 3, 2005 as a market preview and fund-raiser for Bread of Life Charity of St John’s Methodist Church.
Any artist interested in participating in the Urban Nutcracker Market should contact Trena` Williams at 713-443-8430. The deadline for booth reservations is November 22, 2005.
The Gite Gallery is located in Houston’s Midtown at 2024 Alabama. Gallery hours are Thursday – Saturday 10 – 6 pm and by private appointment. For more information on The Gite Gallery call 713 523 3311 or visit www.thegitegallery.com
