Ali Neesaneh, President and Kim Chea, Vice President of Rising Bird, Inc. successfully secured funding for Stone In The Surf Press, a start up publishing company owned by writer and entrepreneur Richard Neumann. Richard who was formerly a consulting CFO for many high tech start-ups is well aware of the difficulty in finding funding. “Without a strong partner, the task of raising funds can be daunting and time consuming. When others said “no”, Ali and Kim were behind us with a resounding “yes!” We successfully raised enough to open the doors and launch our first title in time for the holiday season. It never would have happened without Rising Bird.” – Richard Neumann, CEO.
Stone In The Surf Press will launch its first title Charlie’s Treasures in mid November of this year. Charlie’s Treasures is an inspirational story about a young boy who shares his most valuable treasures, a collection of marbles with a kindly old man. The story is written for adults, but takes the form of a children’s book. It focuses on what is truly important in life. Dian DeWolf, a renowned artist created the rich pastel illustrations that fill the pages. Dian lives in Northern California and is famous for her watercolors of children playing at the beach. The subject of her paintings is often her grandchildren, one of whom was her inspiration for Charlie. In September of 2003, Dian’s work on Charlie’s Treasures was prominently displayed at the historic Napa Valley Opera House, in Napa, California.
