BookSurge announces the publication of "David and Bath-Sheba" by Aida Bode.

"David and Bath-Sheba" has all the elements of a Shakespearian tragedy, yet this is an adaptation of a love story that predates Shakespeare by a few thousand years. Aida Bode has written a moving narrative describing the love of David, King of Israel, for Bath-Sheba, the wife of one of David’s most trusted and able military leaders. David, the shepherd boy, whom God made king of His chosen people, has the love of God’s Law in his heart above all else until he is mesmerized by the beautiful Bath-Sheba, which begins this classic struggle between man’s weaknesses and God’s Law.

Ms. Bode has masterfully used words, sentence structure, and descriptive technique reminiscent of the King James Bible to fashion a drama worthy of its origin—the Bible. How does God deal with his chosen king who breaks the Ten Commandments? Is Bath-Sheba guilty of adultery when it is the king who takes her to be his own? Why does the innocent Uriah, Bath-Sheba’s husband, suffer when he has done nothing wrong? These questions make Ms. Bode’s work a compelling drama pitting the age-old questions of man’s sinful ways against God’s wrath, His love and forgiveness. "David and Bath-Sheba" is a timeless love story based in historic Israel thousands of years ago, yet Aida Bode makes it a fascinating, captivating story relevant and current in the 21st Century. In her words, “I want this book to give a new perspective on how everything we do has consequences—punishment, forgiveness, or reward. The best reward of all is love.”
