TravelPod, the Web’s Original Travel Blog, announced that it has partnered with Intercasting Corporation, the first Location-Aware Media Networking Operator (LMNO), to deliver the first mobile blogging service for travel bloggers.
“Mobile blogging is perfect for travelers,” said Luc Levesque, TravelPod founder and VP Technology. “Our ultimate goal is to make it possible for all travelers to share their adventures as they are happening. We’ve taken another step in that direction with the launch of our mobile blogging service.”
Effective immediately, TravelPod.com members can synchronize their travel journals and travel maps to any mobile blogging-enabled wireless device through Rabble from Intercasting Corporation. Rabble is the first mobile blogging application for cell phones, designed to empower individuals to create, publish and share media and connect with others based on proximity or areas of interest.
“This is a huge step toward enabling TravelPod.com members to post to their TravelPod blogs and upload photos and video from anywhere, at any time, without a traditional connection to the internet,” said Levesque. “With Rabble, Intercasting has captured the zen of one-to-many mobile media communications and that really is one of the fundamental concepts behind TravelPod.com.”
Stowe Boyd, a well-known commentator on social technologies, played a key role in introducing the two companies, both of which are his clients. “The integration of TravelPod.com and Rabble ‘channels’ provides travelers with powerful technology at their fingertips,” said Boyd, “and the mobile travel blogging capability moves both companies closer to their long-term visions.”
“We are very excited to be working with TravelPod,” said Shawn Conahan, founder and CEO of Intercasting. “Real-time travel journals, instant travel diaries, as-it-happens media intercasting--any way you describe it, we share the TravelPod view that the best travel blogs are all about the immediate capture and sharing of those inspiring travel moments. Rabble makes that possible.”
