Reading light on people, places and things from LA to Miami for 35 years, Anthony Saluto is launching Websites, galleries and stationery products in major cities in 2006. Anthony Saluto has extensive gift industry experience from marketing Golf Tee Trivia to more than 10,000 stores in the mid 80's. Every city, mall and department store stocked the popular golf gift. The product took off like a rocket says Anthony. From that experience he has planned his marketing campaign on his photo archive.
Based in Bloomington, IL, his blog, worldsbestphotos.blogspot.com, offers some favorite images. Shooting towards LA, NY, Chicago and Miami the theme is "book me anywhere." Many insights on some of the images created as well as a summary of what is in stock for those who don't already know, appear on the new blog.
As for galleries, currently he is looking at locations in New York, Miami and Palm Beach. Miami probably has more than thousands of new walls than most areas, and likely will see a location open by the end of the year. Saluto shot about 50 CEO's in Miami and has a lot of great contacts in that market, he says.
Commercial work is goal one, as well as fashion, CEO's, covers, and national campaigns. Film is still better than digital as far as display prints go and leaves all photographers with a catch 22 when choosing image capture systems.
Currently working out of his Bloomington, IL loft/gallery/studio, he enjoys 35 wrap-around windows, each with custom blinds, (or is it light modification), in a 4000 square foot space. He is planning prints, mattes, frames, product design and doing commercial shoots. Based three hours from everywhere, Saluto photographs celebrities, CEO's and models, as well as working for PR agencies, brochures, features, editorial, ad agencies and designers. This keeps Saluto busy more than a few days a month. Actually, he pretty much works and sleeps and always makes time for photo assignments.
