ACOM EMR Adds Superportability to RAPID EMR Daily Notes and Reporting Solution with 3.1-Pound HP Tablet Computer, Sets Intro Pricing
Already easy and convenient to use, ACOM's RAPID EMR has a new Hewlett Packard platform that easy for doctors and therapists to carry during patient visits as well as to generate report documents and to perform conventional computing tasks at any time.
ST. PETERSBURG (PRWEB) October 19, 2005 -- The Electronic Medical Records Division of ACOM Solutions, Inc, developer and marketer of the RAPID EMR diagnostics and document management solution for chiropractic clinics, therapists and other health care providers, has adopted the Hewlett Packard Compaq tc1100 tablet computer as its portable hardware platform, it was announced today by ACOM Vice President Gregory T. Church.
To debut the new platform, the division has established special pricing of $5,299.00 on the RAPID EMR total solution, a savings of $700.00 over the regular price of $5,999.00, which will go back into effect on orders received after December 1, 2005, Church said.
Components of the bundled total solution include RAPID EMR 3.8 software; the wireless-enabled Compaq tc1100 tablet computer, Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003, training, and a full year of support on both software and the hardware. Options include a 3-in-1 printer-copier-fax and a wireless router.
Intuitive and easy to use, RAPID EMR chiropractic software traces patient workflow from the initial visit through final examination. Narrative reports are automatically generated directly from patient examination data, eliminating the need for transcription services. Chiropractic narrative reports produced by RAPID EMR include: Initial Examination, Daily Notes, SOAP Notes, Follow-up, and Final Examination. A recently introduced Kiosk module enables practitioners to conserve professional and administrative staff time by allowing patients to register themselves on a computer situated in the reception area when they arrive at the office.
The Compaq tc1100 comes with Microsoft Windows XP Tablet Edition and the Windows XP Service Pack 2; an Intel Pentium 1.2 GHz processor with two megabytes of cache and a 400 MHz bus; a 40 gigabyte internal drive; and communications capabilities that include a choice of 802.11a/b/g wireless LANs and optional Bluetooth. It has a touch-screen for pen interaction and handwritten data entry, as well as a full keyboard; and it features two USB 2.0 ports, one RJ-45 port (network), one RJ-11 port (modem), VGA (video), and IR ports.
“This is a full-blown system in a very small, very light, easy-to-carry package,” Church said. “It very nicely supports our mission to reduce both the physical and mental effort of our doctors’ activities. The Compaq tc1100 is especially nonintrusive, allowing doctors to make diagnoses and notes in real time during the visit without ever losing direct contact with the patient, and it allow them to send their notes to the patient file with just the touch of a key or tap on the screen.”
Every effort is made to help doctors and therapists make maximum use of their time and professional expertise by automating case reporting and administrative work or transferring elements of it, such as patient registration, to the patients themselves, Church added.
“If professionals can see even one more patient per day because of this time saved, it adds up to thousands of dollars per year, and that can make the difference between practice stagnation and vigorous practice health,” he said.
