The Sixth Annual Emerging Information Technology Conference (EITC)
RICHARDSON, Texas (PRWEB) October 21, 2005 -- The sixth annual Emerging Information
Technology Conference (EITC-06) will be held at The University of Texas at Dallas
(UTD) on Thursday – Saturday, August 10 - 12, 2006. This exciting conference will
include programs on
Nanotechnology,
MEMS,
SoC (Systems-on-Chip),
bioinformatics,
C4I (Content, Computer, Communications, Consumer Electronics, and
Integration),
EET (Emerging Energy Technology), and
VC (Venture Capital).
Prof. Alan MacDiarmid the 2000 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry and the James Von Ehr
Distinguished Chair in Science and Technology at UTD, will deliver a keynote on
Thursday morning. Prof. MacDiarmid is now deeply involved in the global renewable
energy movement and his perspective on Emerging Energy Technology will be
enlightening and very much appreciated.
MacDiarmid said that he is “very excited to learn that many of the most distinguished
Chinese-American scientists, technologists and entrepreneurs are involved in EITC.
This conference series is rapidly and unquestionably becoming a bridge for the East
and the West in this fundamental area of globalization, which is sorely needed at this
juncture in time.” He added that he is so pleased and honored to be a part of this great
event.
The EITC is held annually. The objectives are to facilitate technical and information
exchange among professionals from the Pacific Rim and North America on emerging
information technologies; to strengthen the technical and business ties between the IT
industries and academics; and to jointly explore research and business opportunities in
emerging information technologies.
According to Michael H. Wang, founder of the Conference, “We are all excited that
EITC has grown from a regional (East Coast US) conference to now a world
renowned conference, encompassing all the major areas of 21st century technologies.
Having last year’s in Taiwan and this year’s in Texas has given us an excellent
opportunity to showcase different areas and strengths across the globe.”
The first EITC was held in New Jersey in 2001. For the following three years, in
order to highlight the vital importance of fundamental and basic research in all
selected disciplines, the EITC conference was held at Princeton University. The fifth
Emerging Information Technology (EITC-05) was held the National Taiwan
University and marked the first time the conference was held outside the United
States.
The conference is organized by a consortium of Chinese American Science and
Engineer Societies. In addition, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society will provide
technical co-sponsorship for EITC-06 as well. Following are the major conference
