The Drop Spot, a Columbus, Ohio-based leader in the industry of online auction consignment, and the Diamond Cellar, one of the largest independent jewelers in North America, this week announced a partnership that will offer Swiss watch owners top value for their used timepieces. The 'Time for Something New' event, which enables watch owners to convert their timepieces into Diamond Cellar store credit on the spot, kicks off Thursday, Oct. 20 through Saturday, Oct. 29 at The Johnson Family's Diamond Cellar, 6280 Sawmill Road in Columbus, OH.
"We are excited to announce this partnership with The Drop Spot," said Diamond Cellar CEO Andy Johnson. "Their online auction expertise paired with our knowledge of Swiss watches allows us to offer our customers the highest value on their Swiss watch trade-ins."
During this partnership event, Diamond Cellar watch experts will evaluate the characteristics of the timepiece, while online auction professionals from The Drop Spot, will carefully compare each timepiece to millions of Swiss watch transactions from the secondary marketplace. In just 15 minutes, the customer will be presented with a trade-in offer. Trade-in quotes are based on the brand and specific model of the watch, its condition, whether the watch comes with the original box and papers, and the current demand in the secondary market.
“We are aligned with the Diamond Cellar in our goal to bring the most value possible to the consumer,” said Derek Harp, founder and CEO of The Drop Spot. "The trade-in offer is based on the fair market value of that watch in the secondary market and it is offered on-the-spot, with no risk to the customer. I don’t believe our offers can be matched anywhere else in the marketplace.”
Watches will be evaluated without any obligation on the part of the customer, who will receive a free gift just for bringing their watch into the store. Customers who take advantage of the offer will receive store credit that can be used toward any item at the Diamond Cellar. They can select a new item immediately or receive the credit as a Diamond Cellar gift card. “We worked closely with Andy Johnson and his executive team to create a compelling offer with maximum flexibility for the Diamond Cellar client,” said Geoffrey Bibo, Senior Vice President at The Drop Spot.
Although immediate valuations will take place exclusively at The Diamond Cellar's Sawmill Road location, customers can choose to bring watches to the company's Easton store, 3960 New Bond Street, Columbus Ohio 43219 for a trade-in offer within 72 hours.
Customers with questions about the event can either call the Diamond Cellar at 614.336.4545 or The Drop Spot at 614.486.4800 or visit either organization's Web site, http://www.diamondcellar.com or http://www.thedropspot.com.
