Noticeboard.com Domain Name Goes Up for Sale on Afternic.com

The domain name, noticeboard.com was used successfully in the initial stages of the establishment and development of a content management system that was sold to IBM a few years ago.

(PRWEB) October 25, 2005 -- Noticeboard.com has gone up for sale on Afternic.com. It is an ideal domain name for a large publisher, newspaper or auction house. The name conjures up so many ideas and was used in many brainstorm meetings. The name helped to develop Noticeboard.com's software as it was first used for press releases, which required ground breaking software to be working in the background.

The software was specifically designed to allow each noticeboard client to prepare their own press releases. The use of such a simple but understandable name made it easier to approach businesses and government bodies. Press releases were offered in packages that entitled the purchasing organisation to release a number of notices within a defined period.

The ATO (Australian Tax Office) was one of noticeboard.com's first clients, followed shortly thereafter by The Australian Taxpayers Association. ING, Legal and General of Australia and AC&L were but a few of the more prestigious clients that used the system. Noticeboard.com was ahead of its time and even L&G Australia and AC&L have been absorbed by other major players since those first sale of notice deals were done.

The name on its own was an inspiration at every meeting. Some of the ideas that came up at the brainstorming meetings could be compared to Ebay.com and Overstock.com.

Although the initial probe was successful it was hard work because the internet was not yet adequately developed and lacked the number of users necessary to support such a plan. It was easier to simply continue developing the software as a content management suite rather than do the hard slog of selling notices to the limited number of internet users.

The world of the internet has changed so much since those days.

Noticeboard.com domain name is going to be one of those unique names that will become a household name with a successful and substantial business behind it. The purchaser will most likely be a business that will take advantage of existing software that is available and can easily be adapted to suite their business plan.

The Domain name is privately held by one of the founders of Presence Online and was specifically excluded from the asset base of the business.
