New Interactive Program Offers Students Relief From College Stress
myStudentBody® division of Inflexxion, Inc. rolls out award-winning website to combat mental health concerns and college stress.
Newton, MA (PRWEB) October 25, 2005 -- myStudentBody®, a division of Inflexxion, Inc., announces the commercial launch of myStudentBody® Stress, an interactive program that uses individual self-assessment and evidence-based feedback to strengthen mental health awareness and stress-busting behaviors among college students.
According to Dr. Sarah Lord, Director of College Health Programs, “We are very pleased to add this key component to our myStudentBody® Comprehensive College Health Suite. Although depression is extremely common in college, students often feel isolated and alone. Many are simply too embarrassed to vocalize concerns, or have trouble identifying reliable sources of support. We also know that stress and depression are associated with other risk behaviors among students, including alcohol and other drug use and suicide. myStudentBody.com is dedicated to delivering confidential and reliable online health resources that benefit both students and campus administrators.”
myStudentBody® Stress offers an interactive online experience which functions as a brief motivational intervention, to help college students learn better time management and coping skills, and recognize situations that may require professional attention. The built-in myStudentBody® Stress Data Reports companion website provides fully customizable reports and real-time aggregate data that help campus administrators and health professionals plan successful health initiatives and monitor program outcomes. myStudentBody® Stress earned a bronze medal at the Spring/Summer 2005 World Wide Web Health Awards, organized by the Health Information Research Center. Award recipients were chosen on the basis of accuracy, success in reaching the targeted audience, and overall quality.
Developed with support from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), myStudentBody® Stress was recently tested for efficacy and user satisfaction at six 4-year institutions nationally. Preliminary results appear to show significant increases in the practice of healthy behaviors, such as regular exercise and the use of relaxation or meditation techniques.
Special introductory pricing for new myStudentBody® Stress subscriptions is available through 2005. For more information or to request a free guest pass, please visit: http://www.mystudentbody.com/ABOUT/promo.asp?source=introPR
