Lambertville, NJ (PRWEB) October 22, 2005
The holidays are fast approaching. With them comes the stress of deciding which wines to serve with holiday meals or at parties, and which are appropriate for gift giving. The Lambertville Station Restaurant offers a solution with its “Try Before You Buy” Holiday Wine Tasting Event on Friday, November 4 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at 11 Bridge Street in Lambertville, New Jersey.
The cost for the event is $40 in advance and $50 at the door. Advance reservations may be made by calling the Lambertville Station Restaurant at 609-397-8300 or by coming to the restaurant in person at 11 Bridge Street prior to November 4.
Guests will have the opportunity to visit various tasting stations to sample wines and sparkling wines from around the world in a relaxed, informal setting.
Representatives of several wineries will also be on hand to discuss the merits of their wines, suggest food and wine pairings and provide tips for selecting wines for various holiday occasions and gift giving. A wide array of hors d’oeuvres will be served, so guests can experience how the wines complement and enhance various foods and flavors. All wines will be available for immediate sale at special pricing.
Although the official theme of the wine-tasting event is “Holiday Wines,” Lambertville Station Restaurant Manager Jim Hall, who is coordinating the event, says he prefers to call it a “Try Before You Buy” wine event.
“If you’ll be serving wine at holiday meal or party this year, this is a great way to sample several different varieties before making your selection,” Hall explains. “We’ll be featuring what we think are some of this year’s best holiday wines.
“Our event is perfect for both the wine novice and the enthusiast because we do it in a very casual setting. People can sample whichever wines they choose. They’re free to talk to representatives of the various wineries. Those who already know a lot about wines can engage in in-depth discussions about the nuances of the wines. Novices can use this as an opportunity to learn the basics.
“One thing that everyone discovers at a wine tasting is that there’s only one rule when it comes to selecting a wine. You should choose what you enjoy drinking.”
Hall adds that the event itself can be a great way for attendees to kick off the holiday season.
“We do a couple of wine tastings every year, but this one is particularly festive because of the time of year. I highly recommend that before people get caught up in the frenzy of the holidays they treat themselves to what promises to be an evening of wonderful food, wine and casual socializing,” Hall says.
“I hope everyone attending will stay for dinner at The Lambertville Station, as well, and take time to stroll around Lambertville. This town has a lot of charm and character that you just won’t find anywhere else. It’s great way to kick off the holiday season.”
