FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

SEATTLE (PRWEB) October 26, 2005 -- Nexxpost, an independent Seattle-based mailroom equipment dealer, inadvertently received a windfall. Nexxpost’s key competitor, Pitney Bowes, has purchased Nexxpost’s top regional rival Express Business Systems (EBS). The windfall resulting from this buyout: Nexxpost has gained sales territory and a new line of products. Nexxpost been designated by postage meter manufacturer Neopost, Inc. to replace EBS as the area’s exclusive dealer for the Neopost product line.

Overnight, Nexxpost will increase its customer base by fifty percent and double its territory size. Nexxpost expects significant growth through sales to existing Neopost postage meter customers. Additionally, the expansion into all of western Washington opens new markets to Nexxpost and their existing Hasler postage meter line.

For the first time, Pitney Bowes has purchased a competing Neopost, Inc. mailroom equipment dealer (EBS). Pitney will no longer install or support Neopost postage meters through EBS. Instead, Pitney will be attempting to replace those meters with it’s own products labeled under the Secap name. This action has resulted in Neopost, Inc. filing a lawsuit in Washington State Superior Court of King County against the former owner of EBS and Pitney Bowes for breach of contract and unfair competition. Neopost, Inc. is one of four manufacturers of postage meters for the U.S. market. Pitney Bowes has eighty percent of the U.S. postage meter market. EBS is located in Redmond, Wash. Litigation case number 05-2-29988-6-SEA.
