Bentley’s McCallum Graduate School Of Business Launches MS+MBA Dual Degree

November 17 information session details new MS+MBA dual degree and other McCallum Graduate School program offerings.

usnbadge_06.jpgWaltham, MA (PRWEB) October 23, 2005 -– Against the backdrop of a changing business climate in which companies are looking to hire more specialized, service-oriented graduates, Bentley’s McCallum Graduate School of Business is one of a small number of graduate schools offering an accelerated dual MS+MBA degree - arming students with the technical depth and managerial confidence to succeed in today’s global, innovative economy.

The MS+MBA combines the breadth of the full-time MBA program with the deep technical skills of either the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) or the Master of Science in Human Factors and Information Design (MSHFID); full-time students seeking the dual degree can complete it in 21 months.

Understanding how organizations can leverage information technology to improve business processes is critical
MSIT students study programming, systems analysis and design, telecommunications, and data management -- all in the context of e-business. This focus develops students' expertise in using state-of-the-art tools and methods for building, managing and deploying the enterprise-wide computer applications that drive e-business.

The Master of Science in Human Factors and Information Design (MSHFID) program prepares working professionals to meet the requirements of the changing marketplace for technology products, with the ultimate goal of improving product usability and promoting a successful user experience.

MS+MBA graduates will have a distinct career advantage in today’s innovation economy, which demands professionals who are equipped with creative ideas, and who can lead in complex, IT-enabled business environments.

“Understanding how organizations can leverage information technology to improve business processes is critical,” said Margi Olson, Dean of Business and the McCallum Graduate School. “This program gives students more than just a broad overview of business; it also teaches them the leadership and technical skills to tie systems and functions together to achieve maximum productivity and effectiveness.”

The MS+MBA program helps students with previous industry experience take their careers to the next level. “This innovative, dual degree will definitely give McCallum graduates an edge in the job market,” said Olson. “I frequently hear from companies who want to hire our graduates because they’re proficient with the latest technology and able to hit the ground running.”
