At 54, retired army reserve Lt. Col. Bob Weinstein, keynote and seminar speaker known as the Health Colonel, exercises 20 to 30 hours per week with his clients. The article appeared in the October 16, 2005 issue titled "Age Can't Stop Them From Breaking a Sweat"

Lt. Col. Bob Weinstein, age 54 and known as the Health Colonel was featured in the Miami Herald in an article by Desonta Holder. He is a keynote and seminar speaker, writer and beach boot camp instructor on Fort Lauderdale Beach.

Weinstein is a retired army reserve Lt. Colonel who has just not had enough of keeping the body in shape. That was not always the case. Five years ago he was 20 pounds overweight with high blood pressure and cardiovascular insufficiency which he took medication for. His eating habits were not that good although he did exercise regularly.

He decided to start thinking long-term consequences for his unhealthy eating habits and began to make adjustments by eating foods that are "closer-to-nature" such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and beans. The key for him was to add lots of naturally fiber-based foods to his diet which - as he stated - are nature's nutrient delivery systems.

After several months he lost those extra pounds and now lives medication free with normal blood pressure and significantly increased energy. "I feel like I'm back in high school," said Colonel Weinstein.

His mission in life now is to reduce the pain, suffering and premature health-related deaths in this country.

As he so often says, "There are enemy soldiers on American soil. The names of these soldiers are Heart Disease, Cancer and Stroke. They are killing over 3,000 Americans a day."
