ShowMe Tickets Selected For Inc. 500 Award
Co-founder brothers reveal other projects on track for similar success.
(PRWEB) October 26, 2005 -- Inc. Magazine has selected ShowMe Tickets for its prestigious Inc. 500 award, which is presented to the nation’s fastest growing, privately held companies. The company is only one of several business ventures created by two St. Louis native entrepreneurs.
ShowMe Tickets experienced 424 percent growth over the past four years and earned over $22 million in revenue in 2004. Brock and Brant Bukowsky, brothers and co-founders, recently sold the company to pursue other business endeavors. For these savvy business partners, it seems the “show” has only just begun.
ShowMe Tickets ranked 308 on the Inc. 500 List. “Receiving a national award is confirmation that we have assembled an awesome team of people,” said Brant. “We never could have achieved this accomplishment on our own. From the beginning, we knew we needed to have great people working with us and that has been one of the biggest factors of our success.”
Attention has turned to other companies, including a vacation rental company and a mortgage company. Their latest effort, http://www.LakeRentals.com, is a web-based company connecting rental property owners with vacation seekers.
After much research, the Bukowsky brothers found the vacation rental market is dramatically growing as a result of the increase in Baby Boomers buying second homes. Most of these property owners would also like to supplement their income by renting their property when they are not using it. Their niche is lakefront, rather than oceanfront rentals.
“There are so many great lakes around the country and you can do virtually everything at a lake that you can at an ocean,” said Brock. “Plus, it is usually much more convenient and cost effective for people to travel to a lake.”
The Bukowsky brothers attended the University of Missouri-Columbia on academic scholarships and graduated with degrees in education. But they had always dreamed of establishing a business together. They launched ShowMe Tickets in a college apartment after experiencing varying degrees of success with other companies.
“Neither of us had a business degree, but we never would have learned as much in college as we did by actually going out and trying things,” said Brant. They plan to use this experience to grow their other businesses and are currently on pace to reach the list once again with their mortgage company.
