"With the holiday shopping period looming, online marketing pundits have been lauding the stellar size of this year's anticipated online shopping season, but Internet security and online fraud have been on the rise which makes me wonder if shoppers are really any safer online now than in the past.
According to a March 2005 'Privacy and Security' Report by eMarketer, 64% of online consumers are concerned about credit card number theft while 48% are worried about buying fake goods from an auction site and 44% from online retailers.
American Express said that 39% percent of their credit card users are being more selective when they shop online. Surprisingly, more men where concerned than women. Amex says that 47% of men compared to 33% of women are...."
