Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo 2006 – Celebrities, Leading Environmental Groups and the Natural Products Industry Line-up to Support the First Natural Parenting Expo

The Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo will be an unforgettable Earth Day weekend – April 22-23, 2006 – at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Parents and kids have questions – the Expo will offer healthy answers. It will be the first natural parenting and family expo to really address the need for education about important environmental and health issues for protecting our children and the planet.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 27, 2005 -- Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo gains momentum in Los Angeles. Kathy Arnos, Executive Producer and Creator of the event, says, “I am humbled by the overwhelming response from celebrities, leading environmental organizations and the natural products industry. Obviously, this is an expo that is long overdue.”

Attendees will learn about the benefits of sustainable living practices, non-toxic products (personal care, cleaning, etc.), nutritional supplements, holistic medicine, organic foods (without chemicals, dyes, preservatives or refined sugar), smart eating habits and enrichment learning programs. The expected attendance is 25,000+ with 325 exhibitors. For more details visit www.wcwpexpo.com.

Eight leading environmental organizations have joined the list of prestigious media sponsors and partners already involved with the Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo – The Environmental Media Association (EMA), Children’s Health Environmental Coalition (CHEC), Environmental News Network (ENN), New American Dream, The Green Guide, Tree People, Organic Consumers Association and the Love Planet Foundation.

Metro – The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, operator of the nation’s largest natural gas transit bus fleet, has also partnered up with Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo for the environment. In honor of Earth Day 2006, the WCWP producers will offer a 50% family discount rate (up to 4 adults) to those using Metro’s bus or rail lines as transportation to the event.

More than 15 media sponsors have joined the effort to help support Arnos’ vision – “Creating empowered parents, balanced families and a healthier planet for our future”. Arnos feels the unique partnerships with media sponsors, schools and organizations will be the key to the Expos success in reaching a broad range (all ages) of both mainstream and socially-conscious attendees.

Other sponsors include Los Angeles Family Magazine, Give the Gift of Sight (LensCrafters), Delicious Living Magazine, Hugo’s Restaurants, New Hope Natural Media, Mothering Magazine, Yogi Times Magazine, Stephen Stills Children’s Music Project, Livingreen and The Aware Show with Lisa Garr on KPFK-FM radio.

In addition to being media sponsors, Yogi Times magazine will sponsor the Yoga and Reading Stage and Mothering Magazine will sponsor “A Quiet Place” nursing station; Livingreen, a local eco-friendly housewares retailer will sponsor the Healthy Home Zone.

The WCWP Expo will be filled with two days of experiential fun for all ages, with five stages for education and entertainment:
- The Main Stage – meet and learn from celebrities, experts and authors
- The Natural Foods Celebrity Kitchen – celebrities and celebrity chefs will share their favorite recipes for simple healthy snacks and lunches
- The Enrichment Village – will provide hands-on learning experiences, a wondrous adventure for all ages; sustainable living practices, science (solar and wind power, etc.), music and art
- Teen Awareness Stage – find the latest and most effective alternative therapies, schooling, rehab centers and tools for building positive self-esteem, communication, etc.
- The Yoga and Reading Stage – will feature different exercise programs as well as story-telling, children’s books and unique theatre groups like www.afaeryhunt.com

Celebrities generously donating their time include Kim Basinger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ed Begley Jr., Stephen and Kristen Stills, Nell Newman, Erin Gray, Sandra Tsing Loh and many others.

WCWP Expo is the brainchild of Kathy Arnos, a California-based mother, author and producer, who recognized a need for guidance and education in the community for creating more balanced lifestyles. Arnos feels our society is facing critical issues among our youth today – childhood obesity, epidemic numbers of autism, attention deficit disorder, hyperactivity, teen suicide and depression, cancer clusters and much more. She states, “The time has come to create a generation of empowered families, both for the sake of our children and the planet. There is no handbook for raising healthy children – mind, body and spirit – or for guidance in supporting a sustainable planet for their future. My goal is to offer families, teachers and friends all of these resources under one roof.”
