Testaverde’s Fumbles No Surprise for Sports Pickers

PicksPal players confident Testaverde’s Monday Night fumbles would earn them big points in the online sports picks game.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., (PRWEB) October 27, 2005 -- What did PicksPal players know as they made their sports picks that Vinny Testaverde didn’t?

Well, Testaverde knew that he would be taking snaps from replacement center Pete Kendall instead of six-time Pro Bowl center Kevin Mawae. He also knew that he would be facing a tough and underestimated Atlanta defense. He even knew this game would take place in the Georgia Dome filled with thousands of screaming Falcons fans. Yet, despite being aware of these factors, Testaverde still could not take care of the ball, fumbling three times in the first two quarters.

However, several players of the online sports picks game PicksPal (www.pickspal.com) did know Testaverde was in for a long night, risking all of their points on the 7.5:1 odds that he would lose a fumble to the defense. With 1000 points on the line, this prop paid off at 7500 points for the seven players who picked it correctly.

What made these players so confident that Testaverde would cough up the ball to the defense? It could have been the fact that they knew Testaverde had just come out of retirement only three weeks ago. Or that the Jets offensive line has been plagued by injuries all season. On top of that, they would be facing a Falcon’s defensive line consisting of Rod Coleman and Patrick Kerney, arguable two of the best linemen in the league. Whatever tipped them off; the seven who picked that prop now go into Tuesday on top of the PicksPal rankings with 8500 points.

"I put the farm on the pick that Vinny would fumble, just figured he is definitely in the sunset of his career," said Bananarama. "The Jets are a brutal team and I knew they wouldn't protect him. I won on pretty much the first snap of the game. It feels pretty cool to be at the head of the pack."

This latest batch of correct picks on obscure long shots is only the latest in a series of weekly onslaughts at PicksPal. Prior weeks included long shot picks on Albert Pujols’ homer in Game 5 of the NLCS in Baseball, and even players being ejected from games in Pro Football. Sudden deaths in Golf and overtime odds in College Football are also on that list. Whatever the sport is, PicksPal players seem to have an uncanny knack for picking the most obscure and unpredictable events.

The Jets have a bye next week, but it will be interesting to see if Testaverde will be double-checking the odds against him. He might learn something about the game from PicksPal players.
