Auriga Laboratories Names Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Industry Finance Leader as New CFO

The pharmaceutical industry veteran will advance Auriga Laboratories financial and operational processes.

Fisher, with more than 20 years of leadership experience in finance and accounting, has a proven record in creating world-class finance organizations in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries for companies operating in the United States and internationally. He is known for developing best practice financial processes that support improved regulatory compliance, operational performance, and key business initiatives.

Most recently, Fisher was U.S. Corporate Controller at Celltech Group PLC, a leading multinational European biotechnology company listed in the United Kingdom and on the New York Stock Exchange. He was responsible for managing the financial services and reporting for Celltech’s $350 million U.S. commercial, manufacturing, and product development organization, including supporting the filings with the London Stock Exchange and Securities & Exchange Commission, and compliance requirements on behalf of the company’s Audit Committee. During 2004, Celltech Group was acquired for $2.7 billion by UCB, a Belgium pharmaceutical company.

Prior to serving in that role, Mr. Fisher was controller for Medeva UK Pharma Ltd., a pharmaceutical company based in London where he was responsible for the full financial analysis and accounting of the U.K. operating subsidiaries (later acquired by Celltech Group). Earlier in his career, Mr. Fisher held a series of accounting and finance positions in Exxon’s international operations.

Mr. Fisher is certified as a U.K. Qualified Accountant – Chartered Management Accountant, the equivalent of the Certified Public Accountant designation in the United States.
