Jim Meskimen Rocks The Really Spontaneous Theatre Company's Rock-U-Mockumentary
The voice of JibJab lends his amazing talents to this hilarious improv show, featuring great rock music and a spoof of VH1's Behind the Music.
(PRWEB) October 28, 2005 -- Jim Meskimen, well-known for the voicing George W. Bush, John Kerry, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bill Clinton in JibJab’s sensational Internet shorts, This Land and Second Term and most recently, Big Box Mart, lends his pipes to various characters in the Really Spontaneous Theatre Company’s hilarious new show, “Rock-U-Mockumentary.” “Rock-U-Mockumentary” is an improvised parody of the popular long-running VH-1 series “Behind the Music.”
Said Meskimen: “I love to explore characters through voice. When I sing improvised rock songs with the Rock-U-Mocumentary band, I can pretend to be Eddie Vedder or Freddy Mercury. When I did George Bush’s voice singing in JibJab’'s This Land for the 2004 election, I felt for a short while that I WAS the president. I think a lot of people wish that I had stayed that way. Impressions are so entertaining to audiences, it’s like a magic trick, bringing someone onstage who wasn’t there a moment ago.”
Meskimen, an original Whose Line Is It Anyway cast member, has also appeared on Friends and Malcolm in the Middle and in the films Apollo 13, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and The Punisher. Meskimen isn’t the only famous voice in his family: his Emmy-winning sister Ellen was a writer on Joey and Friends and his Emmy-nominated mom, Marion Ross, is Mrs. C from both Happy Days and the Drew Carey Show.
“Rock-U-Mockumentary” runs Saturdays through November 19th at 10 p.m. at the ACME Comedy Theatre, 135 N. La Brea in Hollywood. Tickets are $12. For information or tickets, call 323-969-4991.
