The benefits of the new Micro/sys EPC182 are twofold: sixty-four lines of isolated inputs capable of handling 3VDC to 50VDC, and an additional 16 relays for isolated I/O signaling with a switching capacity of 2 Amps. This high density I/O count is made available on a 4.53” x 6.50” x 0.6” board with a temperature range of -40 to + 85 degrees C and is ideal for PC/104 high-voltage applications.
Each of the 64 isolated inputs is capable of handling 3VDC to 50VDC while providing 4kVrms isolation between the input signal and the system. A user selectable pull-up/pull-down resistor allows each input to be individually pulled high or low to insure a known logic level at power up. The EPC182 is also an excellent choice for applications that require high-voltage relay switching with inter-channel isolation between the input signals. Sixteen lines of 1.5kVAC isolation are available using 16 Form-C relays that also offer 250VDC isolation between the relays. To improve system reliability the states of the relays can be read and will not change state during power up or power down.
The EPC182 operates from a single 5V supply and draws 1.5A (max) 330mA (typ - no relays energized). A flexible I/O base address range and 16 bit pass-through connector makes the EPC182 an ideal board for high-voltage isolation applications.
The EPC182 is $375 in single quantities while significant OEM discounts are available. Cables, breakout boards and related products are also available to minimize prototype efforts and improve time to market.
