The hottest new concept in food service is the meal assembly business -- perfect for time-strapped singles, couples and families.
The Dinner Dr. which opened in May of 2005, provides a licensed commercial kitchen for customers to use in which they make homemade meals in a fraction of the time it would normally take them to plan, shop, chop and prepare. It's a prescription for the dinner time headache.
The facility is a home meal assembly commercial kitchen where the customer can make, take and package either 8 or 12 different entrees which will be ready to cook or freeze. Prices range from $2.74-3.98 per serving -- a fraction of the price to dine out.
The Dinner Dr. provides the recipe, all the ingredients needed (already cleaned, chopped and diced), packaging in oven-ready disposable containers and cooking directions. Add a couple of side dishes available for additional purchase -- and viola!, customers have effortlessly created 1-2 weeks worth of meals to enjoy.
The menu changes monthly and is traditional. It consists of classic items including meatloaf, chicken parmesan, oven fried crunchy fish filets and baked spaghetti, all which are nutritionally sensible and family friendly. Our state of the art oven-ready pans are non-stick and duel ovenable so most entrees can be defrosted in the microwave and then just placed in the oven to cook -- no need to dirty additional pots and pans.
