Writer Osman Khareef, who died in mysterious circumstances in 2000, has had his last novel 'The Legacy of Carpocrates' published using the services of Lulu.com, the world's fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books. Khareef's book from beyond the grave is an exciting 'Christian thriller' exploring many controversial themes similar to Dan Brown's 'DaVinci Code'.
The Legacy of Carpocrates is about the search for, and discovery of, a portrait of Jesus painted by an Egyptian mummy painter whilst He was still alive around 3OAD. Considering that the Shroud of Turin, which bears the imprint of Jesus’ crucified body, is still worshipped and venerated as an holy relic by millions of Catholics to this day, the discovery of a genuine portrait and likeness of Jesus would have an incredible effect on the Christian world. It would be the ‘ultimate icon’. Such an artifact would galvanise and validate the Christian belief of millions. Whoever possessed such a relic would hold the potential for unimaginable power and wealth.
The Legacy of Carpocrates traces the steps of ‘heroic’ characters involved in the search for and eventual discovery in Russia of the ‘Jesus Icons’ which form part of the fabled ‘Carpocratian Heritage’. Powerful secret and not-so secret Forces from the Vatican, elements from within the Knights Templars, the CIA, religious Fundamentalists and others, learn of the existence of the precious relics and take drastic and dramatic steps to possess them for themselves.
The Legacy of Carpocrates contains the fruit of many years of study into Biblical archeology and the events around the formation of the early Christian Church. The book re-presents controversial theories about Jesus and the historical times and groups that created the Christian religion. The story is set against a background of the degradation of post-Communist Russian society, the collapse of Christian Faith and the ambitions of the Secret Societies that hold the reins of power and influence in modem Europe.
The Legacy
Through the centuries there have been rumours that the Carpocratians had ‘something’ of fabulous value which has been used as a guarantor of survival in times of intense persecution. In this book, Osman Khareef has written a story that, for the first time, identifies this ‘legacy’, and tracks its history and origins to the present day. In an explosive thriller, based on a life time of research, Khareef has given us his own legacy – the story of the Carpocrates Legacy and its Meaning which has far reaching and fundamental ramifications for the modern world and the future of humanity.
