No pods, No Discs Needed! Affinitea Takes Unique Approach and Develops New Process for Large Leaf Tea and Herbs
Affinitea brewing technologies announces its entry into the home tea brewer market. Affinitea is a company whose revolutionary and proprietary AP (Agitation and Pressure) Infusion Process enables consumers with the ability to create hand crafted loose-leaf tea or herbal beverages within 30-50 seconds. The patented combination of pressure and agitation makes the modification of the tealeaf unnecessary. While Tassimo, Melitta, Keurig and Falvia depend on coffee technology to brew tea, Affinitea took the opposite approach and developed a process just for large leaf tea and herbs. Any tea lover that has ever witnessed majesty of an unfolding tealeaf knows it just isn’t right to put this beautifully organic plant in a bag or a pod. How would it unfold in the pod? Why can’t I just see the leaves?
(PRWEB) November 1, 2005 -- Affinitea brewing technologies announces its entry into the home tea brewer market. Affinitea is a company whose revolutionary and proprietary AP (Agitation and Pressure) Infusion Process enables consumers with the ability to create hand crafted loose-leaf tea or herbal beverages within 30-50 seconds. Ten times faster than has been possible for the last 5000 years.
While tea bags, pods and discs rely on modifying the tea leaf to infuse quickly, the patented Affinitea Infusion Process is the only brewing system, which enables the fast brewing of high quality loose-leaf tea and herbs from their natural state.
The Affinitea Infusion Process works just the opposite of the espresso machine. Instead of slowly and evenly pressing on coffee grounds, the Affinitea Infusion Process harnesses the power of agitation to open the tealeaf. Once the tealeaf is open, it would still take 3-5 minutes for the water to infuse into the tealeaf under natural atmospheric pressure of 14 pounds per square inch. However, by sealing the environment and increasing the pressure to 140 psi, the Affinitea process forces the natural brewing process to happen 10 times faster (30-50 seconds).
In addition, the espresso machine is designed to depend on the physical consistency of the brewable substance (coffee or tea) or a pod to hold back the pressure inside of the brewing chamber. This works great for coffee because you are grinding it and packing it to an even consistency. However, in the case of high quality tea, herbs and chai, the particles twisted, rolled and all different shapes and sizes they cannot be depended upon to hold back pressure like ground coffee.
While other companies utilize coffee technology and pods to brew tea, Affinitea delivers the leaf as it was intended from the garden, no pod or disc needed. Affinitea utilizes an adjustable valve to exert pressure on the tea after agitation has done the work of opening the leaf. By harnessing physics of tea brewing instead of modifying the leaf, Affinitea has revolutionized the commercial tea brewing market. By opening the leaf and changing the physics of the brewing environment, Affinitea has eliminated the need for bags, pods and discs. Affinitea is currently engaged in licensing talks to create a whole new category of loose-leaf tea and herb brewers.
