Today’s Escapes reminds movie lovers to mark their calendars. The beginning of November marks the onset of the holiday movie releases -- usually one of the most anticipated and busy film seasons of the year. This promises to be a banner year for family-friendly films, predicts Today’s Escapes.

Today’s Escapes looks ahead to these holiday movie releases (please note that release dates are subject to change):
Pride and Prejudice - (November 11) An all-star ensemble cast -- Judi Dench, Donald Sutherland, Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, among others -- come together to tell this classic tale of love and misunderstanding. Set in England at the end of the 18th century, an ambitious and class-conscious mother tries to successfully marry off her five daughters -- despite their own ambitions. Rated PG.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - (November 18) The usual cast of characters are back in this fourth movie release based on the wildly popular book series. Harry faces even greater challenges as he’s selected to compete in the Triwizard Tournament; but it looks like Lord Voldemort is up to his usual tricks once again. Rated PG-13.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - (December 9) C.S. Lewis’ beloved tale transports four siblings through a magical wardrobe to a mystical world of talking creatures and adventure that concludes with a spectacular battle to free Narnia from the White Witch’s powerful spell. King Kong - (December 14) - A crew sets out to investigate reports of the legendary King Kong. Along the way they discover Skull Island, which is seemingly untouched by time, and is home to Kong. The crew eventually captures Kong and brings him back to New York where he rages at the beautiful woman who lured him into captivity. Directed by Peter Jackson, of Lord of the Rings fame. Not currently rated.
Cheaper by the Dozen 2 – (December 21) Steve Martin, Bonnie Hunt, Piper Perabo, Hilary Duff and the rest of the original cast returns for more Baker family hi-jinx. This time they find themselves going head-to-head with their rivals, the Murtaugh family, while on vacation. Rated PG.
