Online Poker Theory Gives New Players an Edge
With the big sharks cruising the waters of almost every online poker room it's really tough for new players or fish so to speak to break even much less win any money. This new theory puts the little guys on a level playing field and can actually give them an advantage over more experienced players
(PRWEB) November 6, 2005 -- With the explosion of online poker reaching all time highs it was only a matter of time 'till people started to exploit and take advantage of a game which is literally crawling with inexperienced players.
The reality is poker pro's have been making a living online by prowling the lower limit games of almost every poker room looking for suckers aka:Pidgeons to take advantage of. Most of the newer players stay at the low limit games to avoid huge losses, but with a few tools, the pidgeons now have a weapon to fight back. This theory has been tested and proven to work. The excerpt below is part of the most recent tests performed at http://www.worldseriespoker.ws
Charlie starts the day out at the .25/.50 cents low limit games on party and intentionally plays horribly. He's calling raises on the river with 9 high hands and then showing his cards to everyone at the table. After watching the game for about 15 minutes Charlie's buddy Jon, immediately suggests the name and number of his doctor and offered to give him a weeks supply of prozac. He was literally freakin out, Charlie said. The first night I probably lost 30 or 40 hands this way and his phrase after almost every hand was "what in the heck are you doin?" I finally had to sit out a couple of hands so I could explain the theory and that this theory was going to be a reality within a few weeks.
The good thing about this was since we were at the low limit games, we didn't lose a heck of a lot of money and we did win some hands because you can only be so stupid. I didn't want to be overly obvious as to what I was doing so when we did have good hands we won... but with some flare. I wouldn't bet with high pocket pairs, instead I would just keep calling and or checking so that we looked stupid even with good hands. Other times I would raise very quickly so everyone knew I had a good hand and was just so excited that I couldn't raise fast enough.
Charlie played like this at the .25/.50 limit games for about 2 weeks until he was pretty sure he was on everybody's buddy list and that most of the good and decent players had him labled as a fish or even worse a pidgeon. I knew this because within a few minutes of logging into any room it would fill up quickly with players I had played with. It was so obvious that I could sit down at a table with 2 players and it would be full within 10-15 minutes. Thats when I knew I had 'em... I'm still laughing thinking about it. I think we lost somewhere around 260$ in that 2 weeks. Jon still thought I was nuts, Charlie said, but his opinion was about to change.
