(PRWEB) November 3, 2005 -- Silanis Technology, the industry’s most experienced electronic signature provider with more than two million users and consumers in business and government, announced today that Dr. Louis Guimond, Product Manager at Silanis, will present at the upcoming Department of Defense (DoD) Public Key Enabling Conference, taking place in Atlanta, GA. The session entitled “Understanding the Complexity of a Simple Public Key Enabled Application” is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8th, 2005 at 9:00AM. This presentation will contribute towards the conference goal of promoting the adoption of the DoD PKI through education on public key enabled applications.

The use of public key-enabled, electronic signatures and approvals throughout the DoD is growing as more organizations recognize the benefits that can be gained by eliminating the need to print to paper for signatures. It is important for system administrators and program managers to recognize that although the key to continued user adoption is simplicity, the technology behind the interface is quite complex. Understanding the dependencies and integration points between the application and the infrastructure will help ensure organizations implement a successful solution.

As part of the requirements for the enterprise license awarded by the US Army, Silanis completed the DoD Joint Interoperability Testing Command’s suite of tests that insure PKI compatibility. This session will present how an electronic signature and approval application leverages a PKI from a technical standpoint. Dr. Guimond will strive to answer the questions most frequently asked by the user community and address topics such as certificate revocation, user adoption, application configuration and deployment.

Attendees will leave this session better prepared to take on the planning and implementation of their organization’s public key-enabled, approval automation initiatives.

Silanis is the leading provider of electronic and approval automation solutions to the U.S. federal, state, and local governments. The U.S. Army, the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, NIH NIAID, and Kansas Department of Transportation, are just a few of the organizations who have increased efficiency and improved responsiveness as a result of bringing their approval processes online with Silanis.
