Spunlogic is proud to announce that they were winners of Gold and Silver awards in the Email Marketing category of the 2005 AMYs. The AMYs are given by the Atlanta Chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA). The Gold winner was for a campaign announcing the new Hotel Indigo, and the Silver was for the Ten Year Anniversary Sale email campaign for Holiday Inn.
The Gold Award went to the "Reconnection Email" for Hotel Indigo, an Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) property. IHG wanted to begin promoting this new hotel through email marketing. The unique challenge with this campaign was that the distribution list had been collected over ten months but had not been communicated to during that period. This problem was compounded by the fact that Hotel Indigo is not yet a recognizable, trusted brand. The email achieved an open rate of 58% and a click-through rate of 36%, far surpassing the initial goals for the campaign.
The Silver Award went to the Ten Year Anniversary Sale email campaign for Holiday Inn. The primary objective of the campaign was to get recipients to book a hotel stay online within the booking period of June 1st – 10th. Email metrics and revenue goals were benchmarked against an average of all other IHG sale-based emails. The email resulted in a 216% increase in click-through rate and a 323% increase in revenue above the benchmarked average of IHG emails.
