Online advertising has stagnated over recent years with popups being increasingly annoying, website design being predictable and staid but a new concept known as "pixel advertising" is the latest method that is attracting consumers in their droves.
http://www.pixelmotors.co.uk is the first website to advertise cars using this concept. If the old adage "a picture is worth a thousand words" is true then it's never been more relevant than here.
According to Dan Frost, Managing Director of Inter Advertising Ltd, the company behind http://www.pixelmotors.co.uk pixel advertising is the "next big thing" on the internet: "We saw the success of the early pixel advertising sites and although the majority were amateurish we immediately saw the benefits to the consumer. Humans are drawn to pictures as we can process them more quickly than pages of text – having a series of images on a page means we can identify what we like and don’t like very quickly without having to trawl through pages and pages of text.”
For once, this is a concept that started out in the UK and is certain to re-shape online advertising as we know it.
