Swede Wins $12,000 Package to World Poker Finals – Aims to Beat Pros at Foxwoods
Swedish poker player Micael Persson landed a spot in the World Poker Tour (WPT) World Poker Finals at Foxwoods this November when he championed a qualifying tournament sponsored by leading online poker guide PokerListings.com (pokerlistings.com) and poker room Pacific Poker (pacificpoker.com) using a set of kings.
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 5, 2005 – Persson has been playing poker regularly for four years, and was full of confidence going in to the tournament. The 35 year old faced down 34 competitors to take home the $12,000 WPT prize package offered by PokerListings.com (http://www.pokerlistings.com) and Pacific Poker (http://www.pacificpoker.com) on Sunday, October 30th, and his poker ego is still pumped up – battling some of the world’s best poker players in the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods doesn’t faze him.
“My expectation was to win the qualifying tournament and to win a World Poker Tour event. I want to win at Foxwoods,” said Persson. He describes himself as a tight, aggressive player and is confident he will be able to stay cool when he’s up against the big guns, thanks to his “calm Swedish temperament.”
The WPT World Poker Finals will take place at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut from November 13th to 16th. First place prize is an estimated $2 million.
