Chavez crowned Mrs. California-America

New Mrs. California-America 2005-2006 crowned in Bay Area.

Pleasant Hill, CA (PRWEB) November 5, 2005 -- Sherri Chavez has been named the new Mrs. California-America 2005-2006. Crowned October 5th, 2005, Chavez will be representing the married women of California for the next 15 months.

Chavez is filling the position of Mrs. California-America left vacant by Andrea Pruess who went on to achieve the title of Mrs. America this past September.

Chavez, 32, and her husband, Dion, have been married since 1996 and is the mother of two, ages five and seven. Chavez has called California and the East Bay area her home for 32 years.

Chavez began her involvement with the Mrs. California-America pageant in 2003. After her first year of competing, she set her sights on being Mrs. California-America. Through hard work, perseverance, and support from family and friends, Chavez achieved her goal.

As Mrs. California-America 2005-2006, Chavez will be making appearances across the state for various charities, causes, and organizations. One cause close to her heart and supported by the Mrs. America organization is the National Anthem Project. Chavez will be traveling the state promoting this program that teaches the words of the National Anthem in addition to spotlighting the importance of music education. A recent Harris Poll found that two out of three American adults don’t know all the words to the National Anthem or why it was written. Chavez wants to help change this.

Sherri Chavez will crown the new Mrs. California-America in Palm Springs next June 2006.
