Court Dismisses Lawsuit Against J. Lloyd Tomer

Edwardsville, IL (PRWEB) November 3, 2005 -- On October 26, 2005, Madison County Judge Nicholas Byron dismissed J. Lloyd Tomer from a lawsuit filed by Harold Lee Wathan (04-L-1411, District Court of Madison County, IL). The suit had alleged Breach of Contract and Fraud with respect to a business transaction between Mr. Wathan and Mr. Tomer’s son, Frank Tomer, in 2001. The transaction involved the sale of Lloyd Tomer’s securities and insurance business with Primerica, Inc. after his retirement.

Mr. Tomer continued, "Prior to the lawsuit’s dismissal, several Internet websites posted press releases provided by Mr. Wathan and his attorney for the purpose of damaging my business reputation. I found out the hard way that the Internet can be an effective way for some people to damage your reputation. Too bad there is no way to regulate or fact check stories before they go flying out to the cyber world. The moral here is, don’t believe everything you read on the Internet.”
