Tom Furth's Book, Movie Deal Generates Significant Excitement, Buzz

Recently, Bright Star Entertainment announced that Tom Furth, a well known, high profile trial consultant, public speaker, and media "talking head", has signed a book and movie deal which will provide readers and viewers with an inside look at his life, several prominent cases, and a candid look at the legal system through the eyes of an acclaimed "whistle blower." The recent announcement has quickly generated buzz both domestically and internationally, continuing a trend in publishing which is indicative of the public's taste for "real life" autobiographical, "ripped from the headlines" books and films. While it can be rare for such significant buzz to occur so rapidly after an initial public announcement, this interest is seen as indicative of strong interest in Tom Furth's personal story of success and triumph against great odds, and public admiration of his career and adoption of two abused former clients from the state of Arkansas.

(PRWEB) November 6, 2005 -- Recently, Bright Star Entertainment announced that Tom Furth, a high profile trial consultant that made headlines both for his involvement in prominent legal cases and his whistle-blowing account of corruption within the legal system and subsequent battle with those that sought to quiet him, has signed a book and movie deal which will tell the story of Furth's career and life to date. The announcement has generated substantial buzz, with significant additional interest coming from the international marketplace.

Furth received unprecedented personal and professional attacks due to his honest and aggressive approach to handling controversial cases. Because represented young clients aggressively in Arkansas, Tom Furth was "target number one" of an unprecedented, defamatory smear campaign directed by many of those within Arkansas that sought to discredit him. Says Tom Furth: "I lost count relatively quickly of the number of times people in that state threatened me, lied about me, harassed me, and actually published out and out lies in newspapers about me. However, I decided to stay focused on the job at hand, particularly while advocating on behalf of great kids like Neal and Jesse Eldridge. I figured that if I could serve as a lightning rod for these rediculous and untrue personal attacks, it would allow the boys to, in essence, fly under the radar, helping them avoid the viscious and defamatory commentary and personal attacks that so many in Arkansas seem to be so good at. It is pretty much a disgrace when telling the truth unleashes a barrage of attacks the likes of which would make your head spin."

Tom Furth will also write about his battle with the "establishment" of the legal system, providing a shocking inside look at the corruption that exists in some places coupled with a complete lack of morality that many think is pervasive in the field of law and justice and which has led to the public's extremely low perception and impression of the legal system and of lawyers. Readers will also be fascinated by his analysis of why kids kill, including an inside look at many of the most prominent and high profile cases that have captured the attention of the country and sometimes, the world.

Tom Furth has moved from practicing law to trial consulting, placing him in an even better (and safer!) position to provide an accurate, often eye-opening true account of the legal world that readers are so fascinated with. Tom Furth adds "Ever since the OJ Simpson trial, the country, and perhaps the world, has been transfixed by 'true crime' stories and by the machinations of the legal world and justice system. There is no doubt that the legal profession is held in exceptionally low esteem by the general public. I know why people feel this way, and after they read my book, I expect that they will be even more concerned."

Says Bright Star's Mark Abernathy: "Readers are sure to be thrilled with this book. It will tell a remarkable story, and we all think that it will be a real page-turner, especially at a time when stories such as this dominate the 24 hour cable news cycle and fascinate readers and viewers. However, it is the 'happy ending' that will tug at the heartstrings of many, as this man overcomes obstacles that would sink most of the rest of us. Today he is still committed to, if you will, "changing the world", and he has built a remarkably successful consulting and speaking business. And his adoption of his former clients, Jesse and Neal; well, I'm not sure that there is another story like that anywhere."

In addition, Tom Furth and his sons have signed a "life rights" agreement with a prominent Hollywood producer that specializes in true life, "long form" productions. Says Neal Eldridge: "We are excited about all of this. Most of all, we want the truth to be told through our eyes; the truth about what happened in Arkansas with our case, the truth about the abuse that we suffered by our biological parents, and the truth about how our dad, Tom Furth, was mistreated by so many people simply because he fought for us so hard. Maybe people will see how incredible he is, and how my brother and I owe our lives to him; he's not about that, and didn't do it for attention or recognition, but we can't wait for everyone to know the truth. We are a really happy family now, and that will be the coolest and happiest part of this movie."

Tom Furth's adoption of Jesse and Neal Eldridge has led to plaudits from people everywhere, and earned him "Hometown Hero" status from NBC Enterprises' (former) John Walsh Show and "Hero of the Week" status from a prominent British tabloid, which featured Furth and his sons on the front page of its Sunday edition.

It is anticipated that both the book and movie will reach the marketplace in late 2006 or early 2007 domestically, and soon thereafter globally.
