Writing Community Raises $1000 in Three Days for Disaster Relief Charities

On their way to their $100,000 goal, the writers of AbsoluteWrite.com have already earned $1,000 for disaster relief charities with their anthology, Stories of Strength. The book was released on November 1 and sales are climbing.

(PRWEB) November 6, 2005 -- Just three days after the anthology was released online, Stories of Strength earned more than $1,000 for disaster relief charities.

The book contains 115 essays, poems, and short stories on the theme of strength from writers all over the world, and was produced to aid charities working on disaster relief. The writers are members of the online writers' forum Absolute Write (http://www.absolutewrite.com), along with a few "celebrity guests," including award-winning science fiction novelist Orson Scott Card (Ender's Game), famed actor Wil Wheaton (Star Trek, Stand By Me), and Christian romance author Robin Lee Hatcher (Whispers from Yesterday).

The writers' goal is to raise a minimum of $100,000 for disaster relief. They have already begun scheduling book signings and interviews to help spread the word, and the blogging community has been instrumental in publicizing the project.
