"Kwatee: Secret of the USS Kwatee" is the first novel of R. Allen Downey. Born in Indiana, Pennsylvania, he served three years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. A graduate of Georgia Tech, he has a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and has been a staff writer and editor, and has published stories in the Georgia Tech magazine, The Yellow Jacket. A retired marketing engineer and manager, he has written for technical and marketing publications, as well as advertising copy and publicity releases, and he was a contributing editor of “Switchgear and Control Handbook”, published by McGraw-Hill. He lives with his wife Branwen in Asheville, North Carolina.
