Christian Music Competition Searches for Choirs, Bands to Compete for TV Show Performance, Cash Prize

CHALLENGE of the Holy Choirs and Bands will invite contestants from churches across the country to come to Orlando to compete for a cash prize and a spot on the CHALLENGE TV show.

Orlando, Florida – A&D Marketing Concepts announces the launch of CHALLENGE of the Holy Choirs and Bands, a nationwide music competition search for the faith-based community that will be held at the Holy Land Experience Theme Park in Orlando, FL on December 2nd and 3rd. The contest welcomes all styles of Christian choirs and bands with a diverse range of musical influences from traditional hymns, to pop to rock to compete for a cash prize and television exposure. Working in conjunction with Vigon Productions and TEA Parties, Inc., CHALLENGE will inspire choir members and band members to present their music before an audience that may not ordinarily be introduced to their particular style of music ministry.

Unlike any other talent competition, CHALLENGE of the Holy Choirs and Bands will invite contestants from churches across the country to come to Orlando to compete, searching for one grand prizewinner in each category. The competition itself will be taped for broadcast on a world-wide network and the winners from each category will be invited to return in the spring to perform in the next music competition designed for vocalists. Each contestant’s performance will be taped for broadcast not to showcase their elimination process, but to introduce their particular style of ministry to a television audience. Angela Pugh, President of A&D Marketing Concepts states; “This competition targets those music ministries that want to be exposed to a larger audience, and those ministries that also want to grow and expand their careers. Our goal is to not only put them in front of judging professionals that can take them TO the next level in the music industry, but to offer a variety of musical styles to an audience that is hungry for more."

The President of Vigon Productions, Suzie Vigon, further explained the importance of CHALLENGE. "Whether people listen to gospel, or Christian rock, we don’t want the participants to feel that their style of music does not fit. This is why CHALLENGE has been divided into a 2-day event so each choir competes only against choirs and bands only compete against bands. The soloist competition happens in the spring but right now it's all about the groups."

The host for CHALLENGE is The Holy Land Experience; a bible-based entertainment theme park located in Orlando, Florida and provides the perfect backdrop for this music event. The entire competition will take place in the Shofar Auditorium of the park, and indoor stage venue and contestants will not only be able to view performances by their competitors, but they will be able to enjoy the amenities of the theme park as well. “Final judging takes place before the park closes that evening, so contestants will have a large part of the day to enjoy their sightseeing. This is guaranteed to be a rewarding experience for all involved,” states Pugh.

Judges for both music competition events will be announced in the near future, but will include recording producers, performers and professionals in the Christian recording arts industry. The grand prize of $1,000 in each category will be granted to the grand prizewinner in addition to other contributing prizes presented by the event sponsors. Entry fee is $250 per group and includes a one-day full admission to the theme park and career tips from each judging participant. The Challenge television broadcast is expected to air mid January and advertising rates are now available for company’s that want to receive exposure.
