Inc 500 Company stays on top of the game by using the government to pay for employee training.

Sometimes employees just need training to uplift them to aspire to new levels. Empowering your people to better serve your customers is the mantra of Joy Gendusa, Founder and CEO of PostcardMania. PostcardMania is one of the fastest growing private companies in the U.S. - just recently validated by making the prestigious Inc 500 list. She is working smarter to stay ahead of the curve by utilizing a State of Florida training grant to enhance her employee’s skills.

PostcardMania is a leader in the direct mail marketing industry. They employ over 100 people and are diversified in their product line offering an array of services designed to meet the individual needs of PostcardMania’s clients. Headquartered in Clearwater, Joy Gendusa operates her business on a simple principle: if her employees are better trained, they will be happier and more productive, which will increase the percentage of satisfied customers.

“I believe on the job training is essential to creating a good team who are cohesive and focused on providing our customers with excellent service. It also makes our individual employees feel more certain and secure, not only in their career, but their personal lives as well,” states Gendusa. “Training staff is a very valuable tool, but it can get expensive for the small business owner. I am certainly glad that the State of Florida has this program to fill this critical need and help small businesses succeed.”

PostcardMania was awarded over $18,000 through the Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) Program, and is eager to begin training. The company will be implementing innovative training programs in graphic design, printing, sales, customer service, marketing and public relations.

“The grant really allowed us to speed up our processes and implement training much sooner than we anticipated,” Gendusa states “Staff is one of the biggest investments a business owner has – it only makes sense to invest the beans in them because that is where you see the biggest bean return. I’d encourage more companies to contact their own county’s Economic Development to learn more about their valuable programs.”
