Pearl Buying in China; Some Sound Advice

PearlsAndJade.com owners William and Angela returned from their most recent China trip and offer advice for those interested in buying freshwater pearls from China.

(PRWEB) November 8, 2005 -- PearlsAndJade.com owners William and Angela returned from their most recent China trip and offer advice for those interested in buying freshwater pearls from China.

"Freshwater pearl buying in China, for the purpose of reselling in the U S, is a very time consuming and challenging process. But it can be enjoyable; and will provide the opportunity to pass on huge savings to your customers," says William Travis, owner of PearlsAndJade.com, a rapidly growing Internet Commerce company.

What one needs in order to negotiate directly with the pearl farmers and factories, is the time, knowledge and resources to purchase in large quantities. It can take years of traveling to China, and a lot of money, to find the reputable suppliers who will provide high quality pearls that can be resold in the wholesale and retail markets; And the purchases must be in large quantities.

Small retailers will save time and money by buying their pearls directly from a U.S. company who purchases directly from the farms.

William, and his wife Angela who makes their custom designed jewelry, just returned from their recent trip to China with another large supply of pearls. With these they will make necklaces, pendants, bracelets and pearl earrings for their Internet store. Many of their pearl necklaces will go to local jewelers for resale.

A graduate of the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) in Pearls and Pearl Grading, William is an expert in the field of pearls, and can help their customers choose the right pearls at tremendous savings.

He began collecting pearls and jade as a hobby in the 1970's; and after retiring from his job as an airline Captain for Pan Am, turned the hobby into a profession and founded PearlsAndJade. The company has been growing rapidly every year.

They offer an exceptional 90-day money back guarantee, and provide discounts to their Discount Club members.

Pearls with high luster
Freshwater pearls, 10 to 12mm shown here with perfectly round shape, clean surface, and very high luster. These pearls rival the akoya salt water pearls that are much more expensive.

Freshwater pearls being sorted
Pearls are harvested, treated, then sorted, by highly skilled workers. It takes a very sharp eye and much training to be able to sort the pearls fast.

Mussels being collected from farm
Pearls are collected by first gathering the mussels from the nets in the farm lake.
