Altavasnon USA/Canada Opens New Community Portal
Altavasnon USA/Canada today announced the release of their new portal website that aims at bringing together Filipinos with roots from Altavas, Aklan in the world wide web. The new website provides news and updates to Altavasnon USA/Canada members as well as provide messaging resources such as public forums, chat and private messaging.
New York (PRWEB) November 8, 2005 -- The new Altavasnon USA/Canada website, altavasnon.org provides a web portal to the Filipino community of Altavas, Aklan. The website contains a public forum where registered members can post messages to reach Altavasnon's worldwide. Registered users can also send private messages to each other as well as chat in real time. The site's photo gallery shows images of past and current events as well as photos of familiar places in Altavas. Future content will include social, historical, geographical, and political facts about Altavas. "The ultimate goal of altavasnon.org is to incorporate all that is related to Altavas, Aklan. Currently the website is a portal for Altavasnon's worldwide. I've redesigned the website for ease of use. I want everyone in our community to be able to use this valuable tool. Eventually, I'd like to see it catalog Altavas' past and current history," commented Frank Refol, altavasnon.org's webmaster.
Registration is free to the website and is required for posting and sending messages. However, content may be read anonymously including viewing of photos. A special forum and photo gallery have also been set up for use specifically for Altavas National School Alumni and Former Students Association (ANSAFSA) members. Members and non-members are encourage to register and start taking advantage of what the website has to offer.
The non-profit organization Altavasnon USA/Canada was created to provide financial and emotional support to "Altavasnons." Each year the organization raises awareness of a specific need in the town of Altavas, Aklan to their members and work with members to finance the project.
